Social media (SOMED) are websites and or applications for users to share content and to network. They’re convenient, quick and easy to work with. Therefore, there are literally thousands of new subscribers every moment.
Users of SOMED include family, friends, coworkers, strangers or even enemies. Photos, messages, blogs and images etc. – good and bad – are being exchanged each day. Hundreds of thousands of them, right across the globe.
Quite probably, there is an app for every conceivable relationship. No? Just one moment please, it’s coming up! Undoubtedly then, the temptation to overindulge is constant and real. Therefore careful engagement of time and attention is crucial.
Given all of that, you should go ahead, become more digitally inclined and improve your relationships via social media. But there are some cautions that must be observe:
- Think for yourself. SOMED prompts you to respond based on data analytics. They assume to know you and what you are looking for. And they are getting more accurate with each new data set. But remember, one size does not fit all.
- Don’t get carried away or bogged down. Stick to the rules of your engagement and know that there are other important things to do in your relationships. Life is not all about SOMED!
- Teach social media while you learn from them. Carefully share your experiences on SOMED. You’ll appreciate your relationships more when you help others by them.
The Gravel has sounded, social media can help to improve your relationships but must be used appropriately. The choice is yours.
